People are always talking about luck and even use it in their everyday language such as “luck of the draw”, “lucky fish”, “lucky day”, “lucky bean” “thank my lucky stars”, you are my lucky charm”, and “lady luck smiled on me” . People use or consider objects as being lucky too, such as a four leaf clover, a rabbits foot, a lucky bean or even a lucky fish. Each culture has it’s own lucky objects from a dragon to a laughing Buddha to a Mojo bag. Others consider an item of clothing or even an accessory as being lucky, they will wear the same shoes or shirt or sunglasses every time they go to the Casino to play. Still others consider the time that they go to gamble is lucky for them.People who play Roulette regularly play on lucky numbers and in some cases it seems as if this works. Whether it is that persons sense of luck is being altered by their confidence in their particular number or simply a normal run of numbers, nobody can tell. That person will always firmly believe that their winning streaks are a direct influence of their lucky numbers. In extreme cases people will go through rituals like feeling to see if a slot machine is warm, tapping a coin on the slot machine before playing, walking around the table three times before taking a seat. These may all sound crazy to the non gambler, but they are an extremely serious part of the gamblers routine and considered to bring them luck. But is it LUCK or some kind of coincidence, or being in the right place at the right time, or gamblers fallacy – the law of averages, the toss of a coin, could fate or destiny play a part, or is it just something that happens which is beyond our control? Perhaps we just live on Planet Luck
